About

An independent, mission-driven open access publisher based in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom.

Who We Are
Oxfordshire Academic Publishing (OAP) is an independent scholarly publisher founded with a single mission: to make high-quality, peer-reviewed academic research freely and permanently accessible to every researcher, practitioner, educator, and member of the public in the world. We are based in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom, and serve a global community of authors, editors, and readers across every academic discipline.
We are a fully open-access publisher. All content published in OAP journals is made available immediately upon publication under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0), with no embargo periods, no subscription costs, and no access restrictions. We do not publish hybrid journals; every journal in our portfolio is fully open access.

Mission and Vision
Our mission is to advance global knowledge exchange by publishing original, rigorous, peer-reviewed scholarship that is open, accessible, and reproducible. Our vision is a world in which all researchers, regardless of institutional affiliation, geographical location, or financial resources, have equal access to and the opportunity to contribute to the global body of scholarly knowledge.

Our Values
• Integrity: We hold ourselves and all stakeholders to the highest standards of research and publication ethics, in accordance with COPE Core Practices.
• Rigour: We maintain robust peer review processes that assess manuscripts solely on their scientific and scholarly merit.
• Transparency: We communicate openly and honestly with authors, reviewers, and editors at every stage of the editorial process.
• Equity: We actively work to reduce barriers to publication and to ensure that researchers from all regions and backgrounds can access and contribute to our journals.
• Independence: Editorial decisions are made entirely independently of commercial, financial, or institutional considerations.
• Sustainability: We are committed to the responsible stewardship of the scholarly record, including long-term digital preservation of all published content.
• Inclusivity: We promote diversity in authorship, editorship, and peer review, and we expect inclusive, bias-free language and research practice from all contributors.

Governance and Editorial Independence
Each journal published by Oxfordshire Academic Publishing is governed by an Editor-in-Chief and an Editorial Board composed of distinguished, internationally recognised researchers in the relevant field. Editors are selected on the basis of their academic expertise, standing, and commitment to publication ethics. No individual from OAP's commercial or administrative operations may seek to influence or interfere with any editorial decision.
OAP maintains a clear and irrevocable separation between its editorial function and its commercial operations. The level of article processing charges paid by an author, or whether an APC waiver has been granted, is not disclosed to editors and has no bearing on editorial decisions.
